The problem I have with all of this is that it does change the sound with a single speaker. This tells me that as of yet we don't an explanation for it.

A little off topic, but when you replaced the electrolytic capacitors I hope you used insulated cap cans.

Wish I could explain it but I can definitely hear it. It is part of the reason the FET sounds different than the normal input.

Or use the Radio Shack carbon films and Allen Bradley carbon comp like Dumble.

Filter capacitors besides filtering DC are also a pathway two and from ground for your signal. This is why the ESR is important. Furthermore, the dropping resistor combined with the filter capacitors act as a RC filter

I would like to add that in the Low Plate Classics with the accent switch, Dumble used a .1uf presence cap with a 500 ohm trimmer in series. At least in the ones I have seen.

Yes we have photos to back up that those indeed are the values in 124 as a Skyline. However, the layout for 124 as a Low Plate Classic is based on educated assumptions. All of the actual Low Plate Classics I have seen photos of have a 3k3 or 2k7 NFB with a 270 ohm tail. In fact, I have reason to bel...
