Re: get out your check book..
That amp probably has a special sonic inhancing glue that holds the caps to the chassis.. and the wood dowel is cut and sanded to a specific vibration resonance, along with the wire, for perfect harmonics. Now you know i'm just kidding.. we know these are great amps,or we wouldn't be here building the...

Re: another express kit on the way
i guess everyone will have one of these amps of some sort soon. kind of an explosion similar to how the 18 watters have gone.
Wonder what the thoughts are on this. Seems a few people already make wreck clones and sell them.

Re: My Second Express Build - In progress
I "think" those are Rubycon caps. Although i don't know if you can still find those. And as of late i have seen many having problems with the Rubycon in PCs.. I have also of late, not had good luck with the atom Sprague caps. I have been useing the blue BC componet caps.. and really like those. I bel...

Re: My Second Express Build - Done (almost)
Hmmm very good questions.. I do respect Ken and other builders.. But not many can afford a 20k Wreck. Even if they could ,how many ever come up for sale? Most would want an amp that is the real deal built by a master guru. And other people have been building them, and selling them. So why is it ok in...

I think most of us saved those.. I don't know if they are in the files section, haven't looked. But they may have been taken off the site the link was to.

Re: those elusive mallory pvc612's, soon to be in stock with me!
If you click on their history you can find out some info about them. Only thing close to me is deer in the yard..lol I kinda found them through a different way. I was on the mallory spragues cap sites, and the distributor links listed. They have been selling Sprague caps and others for many years. Th...

Re: mallory pvc612 (.02/600v) caps and the other caps as well
just for someone who might want to know. The Sprague 6PSS20 are the same as the mallory. They are made by the same factory for both mallory and Sprague.. So if you have trouble in getting the Mallory PVC series.. the Sprague 6PS series is the same cap, made exactly the same way. And much easier to fi...

Allynmey; Sorry not Dana here.. but i think he went to the dentist today,so he may be a bit out of it. As for the Show.. they are not like they used to be years ago. I think this was Dana's first show in 10 yrs. But we still had a good time, the best is just talking and meeting people, and looking at ...

Re: bass boost
The one i have been playing has plenty of bass..and with the LP i use the bright switch..you could do a few things.. like fender does in the bass boost of the bassmans with a switch..you could do a couple things in the feedback circuit for a bass boost or resonance control,or a switch to put a cap i...

Re: Ideal platform for Express clone; experience with 6L6 tubes
Although i like the express EL34s much better.. I built an amp a few years ago out of a 4x6L6 dual showman..it turned out as a 2 channel amp. Just used what was on hand in the amp and a few parts thrown in.. and the fender power supply transformers.. Sort of a cross between the fender and express. I...
