Re: Selecting THE screen grid resistor value foir my '66 Bassman
Pay attention to your values, the stock Fender value is 470 OHMS, not 470 THOUSAND ohms. I occasionally use 1,000 Ohms (1K) when changing out these resistors. In cases where I rewire the socket to allow EL34s 1,500 (1.5K). I doubt there is any audible tone difference between the types of constructio...

Ah I found the push -pull circuit on a deluxe of the same era http://www.studiosoundelectronics.com/schematics/deluxe_reverb_boost_schem.pdf so it's just adding the reverb recovery stage? I imagine that .003 coupler isn't helping As long as the pull boost switch is not pulled out, it's completely o...

What has hurt my ability to search for items on eBay is "Search using the wildcard symbol (*) is no longer supported." Owing to many eBay seller's spelling skills it's can be difficult finding items where there is a misspelling in the item description. Regarding timing of bid placement, I make at le...

Re: why so many Fender Princeton Reverbs for sale?
As-is the Princeton style circuit is picky about tubes. The best place to start is a pair of brown base GTY's, Sylvania or GE. RCA black plates are not the only game in town. Same goes with the cathodyne inverter. Swap around tubes till you find one that doesn't fart as much. Rectifier, again don't ...

I have seen these described as "Music Man" corners.

I hate to see anyone leave... many here have contributed knowledge that I either didn't or would never have. That being said, if we're going to get our panties in a wad over something so trivial, perhaps it's all for the best. Any group will have members come and go in the natural flow of community...

I understand that it is considered less undesirable than tobacco smoke, but what is in the fog that you inhale? What is in the secondhand stuff that I inhale? The couple friends I have that are on ECigs seem to be doing well with them. Maybe the Surgeon General will have something to say about thes...
