Cork borers work well in soft materials. They can be obtained from laboratory suppliers. If the foam has some stiffness, foerstner bits can be used.

The flamboyant percussionist behind Beck looks like Ray Cooper who did some of the 24 Nights gigs with Eric Clapton.

The people at THD told me they could be difficult to get apart. You have to open them to replace the bulb sometimes. Mine was easier that expected to get apart. Everything slid out of the extrusion.
