Re: Lowering power output
Over the years of amp building, I've become quite fond of the 6BM8 tube. The amp I play the most at home and at open mics is the 6BM8 "The Minimalist amp". The solo on this was played on The Minimalist. https://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=14391017 Sometime back, I drew up the Tweed BluezMeister idea...

Re: 6L6 Cathode biased advice / ideas
I would also be surprised if cathode bias is the cause of your problems. I've had numerous cathode biased 6L6 and 5881 amps and they did not have the characteristics you are describing. In fact, I think someone would be hard pressed to do a blind fold A/B listening (using different guitars and A/B t...

What can you do about the arthritis in your hands? Nothing much to help lessen the arthritis beyond staying active. However, you can adapt a new playing style. Not use a guitar pick. Or use a thumb pick. Play more triads and comp chords. Example https://soundclick.com/r/s86j2x Play more slide guita...

Re: Mortality - Some Thoughts
I meant that ALL the photos actually fit on one drive. I have backup copies that have already been sent to kids.10thTx, I'd copy that to like 2 or three other locations.

Re: Mortality - Some Thoughts
I am old enough to "see the end of my life" ............ meaning that I'm the oldest of my generation (siblings and cousins). And that I watched my parents take their last breath. Chronologically, I'd be the next to pass away. It gives one MUCH to think about ................ including what's truly ...

Another one to consider given two 12A_7's. Obviously you'd need to make some changes for 6V6's.

Re: Princeton Non Reverb to TR JM thoughts.
It may or may not be a good sounding amp? This is a DRAFT unproven idea only for discussion and edits. It allows for a psuedo pretend active FX where you can place reverb and/or delay to fake some of the JM aspects. I am NOT advocating building this. I would anticipate if this idea works that it wou...

Re: Princeton Non Reverb to TR JM thoughts.
I just want to hear some thoughts on this or if this modification is a waste of time. If your expectation is that "the conversion" will sound anywhere close to a John Mayer Two Rock amp, then I think you are likely to be very disappointed? You might do a search on the "Small Special" with the idea ...

Re: Marshall JTM45/T of many gains
I am appreciative of the descriptions and direction. Having said that, you are describing things I have NOT familiar with at all ............. so I really am just making guesses and lack confidence that I am drawing things correctly? I have never heard of a Jose clipper mod before your mention of on...

The YouTube video of that Marshall was absolutely stellar! I've attached an editable ExpressSCH schematic that can easily be revis...
