This is the most versatile way to wire a 2x12 cab, especially if you have to different sounding 8 ohm speakers. It gives you not only parallel and series, but each speaker individually. This is not original with me.odourboy wrote: Opinions sought!!

I checked with the US distributor for Kauri wood and he quoted me prices ranging from $125 a board ft and up for nice Kauri wood.. This US distributor in Wisconsin lists it for $25/bdft for 4/4 and $32/bdft for 8/4. They also list outlets in various parts of the US. http://www.ancientwood.com/ancie...

So, that said the tone is there albiet with odd knobs settings. Glen, As you have played more than one KF Trainwreck, did you find you had to set the controls differently on different 'Wrecks, as well? Re: Liverpool Schematic and Layout for critique
I think my next T'wreck will feature double decker boards for those caps, like I've seen others do. This LO was just meant to be a place to start. When you're building an amp for yourself, there's no right or wrong if it suits your ears. I plan to stack 20's on 40's as Ken did. I think, after discu...

Re: Liverpool Schematic and Layout for critique
Before you do anything, check the latest revisions. I had the B3+ and B5+ reversed. Check the updated LO above. I'll have to get Omar to put it into the archive. Sorry for the confusiontitanicslim wrote:... I have them before me as I finally connect everything up on my Liverpool build.

Larry, What great complementary work! With Allyn's amp, this will sound as good as it looks Craftsmanship is alive and well Using solid figured boards, are there dimensional changes that, in time, are more likely to affect shape, i.e. warping?Distortion wrote: This really was a fun project working with Allyn

Re: Liverpool Schematic and Layout for critique
What's the difference between this and your earlier versions. Tone stack corrections; 2-40µF filter caps in parallel instead of a 80µF; a few notes. What do you make your layouts with? Concept Draw is a Mac program similar to Visio for Windows. One impetus for doing the layout was to get a handle o...
