So I'm getting rawnster's rocket.

Any good cab suggestions for me?

I want:
super small
super light
perfect sound
quiet enough to use on stage
cost about $50...

That's all possible, right

I'm glad you bought that...it was tempting me and I'm too broke.

As for cab, I'd try a 2X12 with Warehouse Guitar Speakers. Though, you'd be hard pressed to find *anything* for $50. You might be able to get a single speaker used for $50...

Not a good time to skimp - a great sounding amp needs to let out The Tone. If run into/through a crappy lil' cab, it'll sound constipated.

Oh, I'll put something worthy together later. I just need something cheap to get me by for a little bit.

Has anyone used a Thiele cabinet with the Rocket? I know they typically don't need any more bass boost but I am curious if they would add any additional richness to the tones.

Ah, the benefits of living in a big city...

All those prices look good.

It'd be nice if you could take the amp and try them out with your guitar.

I was using a couple of different cabs with it, of which both sounded fantastic. One was a 1x12 open back with a Fane AXA alnico. Very refined and rich tonally. Broke up well too. The other cab was a 2x12 closed back with two Scumback M-75s 65watt version. That cab was magic with the rocket circuit. Plenty of chime and glass without being icepick-in-the-forhead. But then pushed, it had a very cool break up tone. I made several recordings of this amp with the 2x12 cab that are hosted here somewhere on the forum.

Of all those, I'd go for the Bogner. Offer him $250 cash and take that home. Seriously, the cost of drivers alone would be close to $200.

I like the sound of my rocket with an open backed cabinet.

Take that cabinet, and when you can afford it, replace one of those speakers with an Alnico of some sort. Or both speakers if you buy one and sell the two stock speakers to buy a second alnico. Chime city!

I'm working on a 4X12 cab with two Pre-Rola greenback clones, and two alnico british type for my Rocket.

I'm playing mine through a 4X12 with 2 Scumbacks (detuned setup), and I'm trying to round up 2 Scumnicos.

Wow, I never updated this. I did get the bogner cab, but was never happy with it. Then I got an orange 1x12 closed back cab with a v30 in it, which was a little more to my liking.

But what I've been using for the last couple of years has been as Austin Speaker Works Elegante (https://www.austinspeakerworks.com/Alni ... 16133.html) in that same closed back cab. It is head and shoulders above anything else I've heard. The only question is open/closed cab, and I tend to like it closed (maybe just because it fits in my car ;)
