Hey Dana-
I suppose you can write Wreckboy from the Gear Page and ask him directly; as best I can gather from some old ampage threads, its a single ended KT88 wreck... It's one of the amps pictured in that christmas themed photo he posted.
I believe the ampage discussion is archived here...

I think Aron Nelson has played one. He runs diystompboxes.com.
Re: Dirty Little Monster
Thanks everyone. I'll check out the leads and I'll be sure to let ya know if I make any headway.
Re: Dirty Little Monster
Might anyone have experience with preferred sets of trannies for this project? Especially interested to learn of options for the 15+ watt single-ended OT.

Re: Dirty Little Monster
This is from the Weber Tube Amp Talk book page 258:
" My own Champ has a Groove Tube
#7 6550A output tube, a 10" celestion speaker, bigger transformers, a hot Marshall style preamp, a presence control, and yes- a master volume!"
Might be some clues in there somewhere?

Re: Dirty Little Monster
That's close to the topology and hardware of the Allen "Class Act" also.

Any info available on the "Dirty Little Monster"
I recently heard of "the Dirty Little Monster", apparently a Single Ended Train wreck amp. Has anyone played with one of these and/or does anyone have info, schematics, opinions, etc..
Thanks,

Re: dirty little monster
There is very little info on this amp and only a few were ever built. If you hear of anything I would also like to know more.dayn wrote:I would like to know more (everything there is to know) about this amp.

Yeah, I'm with you on this topic... it would be great to know the story. I've dug a little bit but there just isn't much info available. Maybe if we keep the posting fresh somebody with the goods will help us out?

Re: Dirty Little Monster
Have any of the aftermarket boys had a play on this theme? Paul Ruby or Mark Abbott? Callaham? Anyone? Anyone else tried patching a 'Wreck front onto an SE Power Stage? I know that the PI distortion is intregral to the 'Wreck sound but an SE approximation would be interesting... a 6V6 or 2 x parallel EL84's for about 10 watts, and tone to kill for...........

Re: Dirty Little Monster
No one that I know of has done an "after market" DLM. Someone in another forum stated that is was the same think as a Allen Amps "Class Act" but I don't think anyone has confirmed that. There were only a few DLMs built and most were built from a donor amp like a peavey or champ or something. We know it was a SE amp with probably one pre and a KT?? for the output.Beerman wrote:Have any of the aftermarket boys had a play on this theme? Paul Ruby or Mark Abbott? Callaham? Anyone? I built a 2 channel amp last year with one channel being an Express channel that ended up going through a dual SE EL34 output stage. It sounded very nice and very loud. But it wasn't a DLM
