Thanks dude! It's a real beast to play. With the Les Paul, the clean sounds like someone gracefully playing a wrought iron fence with an oak bat.

Really beautiful work---who doesn't like Flamed maple? With the GCA7's
the amp must have a more "6L6"ish vibe. I always thought they made
a more "American" style sound. I'm looking forward to RJ doing more tests to hear these kind of differences...same amp different tubes etc.
Maybe KT88"s would be interesting in a wreck...

I recall Derek Ferwerda telling me that Ken really loved the sound of KT-88 tubes. I am not sure what amp style or if he had a preference them for them to be used in one of his circuits. I do have a large Wreck style chassis to put together with KT-88's in mind... it's on the list.

Thanks man, yeah flamed maple is killer. I have a matching cab which will house a Liverpool shortly.

As for the 6CA7s, they have a huge clear, low end and later breakup. I actually swapped them out for a pair of EL34s. I found that those old 6CA7s were (unfortunately) very mismatched and the distortion was not as good as it should be. The EL34s sound great and much smoother.

Beautiful build, true eye-candy. I would love to try my hand at one of these. Sadly not much available these days it seems in terms of chassis anyway.
