Sorry to hear about the Hard Drive problem. Is it possible for someone to send me a copy or possibly just post it ?
Thanks

So how do the other Airbrake clones differ from the layout we are passing around? Are the Allessandro Muzzle and the Kendrick Powerglide exactly the same? Were there some tweaks made to the circuit? From my experience the Dr. Z is exactly the same as this drawing.

which parts to change to make this work with my 100w plexi?
...change out the shunt resistor to 225w one and the switch for one rated at 6amps. anything else?

I had a hard drive crash a short while ago too! You wouldn't believe what I lost!

Looks like that would be murder on your amp if you have 4-ohm out only. Not too bad for 8 or 16.

Here's a chart of the load your amp will see at attenuation settings 0 (no attenuation) through 4 (last step below bedroom). It's DCR only but I think the trend is interesting. Series 1 is 4 ohms, 2 is 8 ohms, 3 is 16.

i dont really understand the graph but u r saying running my 100w plexi at 16 ohm the airbrake should be fine?

The graph is the load the Airbox shows your amp - when you have 16 ohms plugged into it, it's fairly close to 16 - the first attenuated setting is a little low, but the rest are closer. Whether they're "close enough" I can't really say.

Rock, drill cooling holes in the top and sides of that little box... i played my 100w marshall through it for bout 5 mins with only 2 power tubes in and the power resistor got hot enough that i blistered a finger:(

I am not claiming it will handle 100w... but i did play mine through it:) but i don't know if i would play it totally cranked all the time..it has zero problem handling the dumble... i play the dumble on 8 and the brake barely gets warm...

So, does this look correct?

Why 6-11-16 ohms? Will 4-8-16 work or 2-4-8.. Just curious. Thanks

These values are not related (directly) to impedence, but rather are related to attenuation levels.

Hey guys, just wondering--on that large power resistor that you can get from mouser, does it come with the adjustable tabs for the 6-11-16 settings or do you have to get them separately? I have not been able to find them at mouser for some reason...sorry for the dumb question, figured I'd ask.
