Rocket PT 240v
Can anybody out there in amp garage land suggest where i would find a PT for my rocket build? I need it for Australian voltage - 240v / 50Hz.
I have contacted RJ who has been most helpful however he does not stock this particular PT for 240v mains.
Thanks, RG

Try Brian Wallace at Marstran, he could have some export PTs in stock.

Re: Rocket PT 240v
rj shows he has the HTS-5199 EX 240 volt at 260-0-260 and 300-0-300 secondary PT
Re: Rocket PT 240v
Sure, but rj also states that the current batch doesn't include a 5V winding. Fine iron for an Express or a Liverpool, but not the right version for a GZ34-powered amp such as the Rocket.rj shows he has the HTS-5199 EX 240 volt at 260-0-260 and 300-0-300 secondary PT
Re: Rocket PT 240v
He has a Edcor PT listed with 260V, 6.3V and 5V. The page also says that Edcor can do 240V versions (with 3 weeks notice.)

Edcor iron is great too, I would have no problem using their stuff over Heyboer (who are great in their own right).

Hey guys, thanks for the info. I have contacted marstrans and he does not stock these transformers. I will try a local transformer maker here in Melbourne.

Let me know how you get on... I'm also in Melbourne. I'm planning on rebuilding my DC30 clone as a Rocket soon - will use the existing West Labs trannies for that.crafty1 wrote:Hey guys, thanks for the info. But am also planning on a 6CA7 powered "rocket" too - ala RJ's Rockster.
It might also pay to contact Barry Marie via Aussie Guitar Gear Heads forum, he's built a couple of Expresses that I know of, and may have some ideas.
Happy hunting.

RJ is deep in the woods of Texas right now. I expect him to resurface soon.
I'd suggest you contact him to see what he can get for you. I know he has done several special orders for our Euro-Rocket building friends and has a great working relationship with Edcor.
RJ - Drop by for coffee as soon as you are cleaned up a bit.
