Head cabinet
I am wondering, who builds their own cabs and who has outsourced? Looking for a ball park price on cab builds. I checked with a local shop and their shop time is 60.oo/hr. Estimated time to build the cab 4hours. Price of wood puts cost close to 300 bucks.

Re: Head cabinet
I just sent the specs to Mojo. On single-units, they'll build one in Cherry for $300 or tolexed plywood for $250.

1965mt...those are sweet! Do you have a layout for the Trainwreck head?
I build furniture and have a small shop (personal). I have some nice cherry, walnut and mahogany in stock. I need to build two cabs for my friend and I to build our own twreck xpress. I noticed on some of the pictures that KF used simple butt joints and mitred some strips on the end. That doesn't seem very strong...unless he used biscuits. How do you join your heads?

Re: Head cabinet
I am pretty sure that KF used reinforced miters.
The two on the left were built that way but the two on the right were half blind dovetails.
I got the dimensions/layout from here.
I also used biscuits to join the front panel. I think the next few I build will be rabbits.
