Post a schematic! I have an extra amp chassis laying around that I want to build a 50W Rocket with. What power tubes are you using?

Cliff,

I don't use the schematic anymore I just build based on our discussions with Normster, rj, Rawnster and others.

But I am attaching the ones that Rawnster, rj and Normster posted.

The main layout to use is Normster's octal powered layout for reverb wiring and board layout.

I am using JJ EL34's to begin with and will also try Tungsol STR 6L6 to see which I prefer.

:D I actually slowed down feeling like crap and the arthritis is getting worse. I spend very little time building each week, nothing like I used to.

This amp was completed to this stage over the last two days working part time on it.

Told my wife I just may have to start playing the lap steel as it is hard to get my stiff fingers to play clean chording and they lock. I should be able to cheat with that on the lap steel. I could swear I heard her counting up the cash available on guitar sales! Crap :)

One night I was right smack in the middle of a lead run at the local watering hole and my friggin left hand middle finger locked, good thing I know how to improvise. :!: And NO I wasn't giving a finger to the door man either

Mark, I'd love to discuss this more in the near future. My lead singer is in love with my Rocket but I don't want to give it up for various reasons (mainly the awesome Stancor iron I have in there) and I think he'd appreciate a slightly louder amp with a MV as well as the cheaper retube. I was thinking some sort of big bottle output but I haven't decided what yet.

What complications arise from just shoving a Rocket preamp at one of the PA's in the schematics you posted? I don't need the reverb so I'll be leaving that out. Which PI setup do you use from the two schematics you posted?

Cliff I am posting rj Rockster using KT66 you can use what ever tube you want I have used EL34 and 6L6s. Other then the optional C3 cap on V1b the rest is typical TW Rocket circuit right up to the power section.

The PI of the TW Rocket remains as original.

The schematic states unverified but it is correct.

Hey Mark, that's a mighty fine looking build you have there. I really dig the faceplate and the chicken heads. Is that destined to be a combo or a head?
