Liverpool EL84 cathode question

Post by andrew »

I am building a Liverpool and the schematic says to use one 120uf and one 120r for each pair of EL84s. All I have is one 62r and one 220uf to handle all four EL84s ( like the Rocket). Has ayone tried this? Thanks.

You should be fine with the 62ohm and 220uF bypass cap. Make sure you have a beefy cathode resistor though, I use 10W or greater and usually wirewound.
Eardrums!!! We don't need no stinkin' eardrums!

should be fine like that, just make sure you've got a good high wattage quality resistor in place.

Thanks guys. Just wondering why are the 4 cathodes hooked together on the Rocket and on the Liverpool they are separated into pairs? Thanks again.
