I say good on him! Its great to see someone's hobby (potentially) turn into a vocation. Even if the end product might be considered controversial.

Wonder if we can get him to sneak a few gut shots?

I wonder what that sort of thing costs

I wonder why the newly built Trainwrecks amps cause issues?

How is it any different from the Kendrick built Climax amp or the Komet amp?
Yours Sincerely

!!! You do realize Will is the artist who makes all of the custom faceplates we have offered?

I set Will up with JM just before i left to the east coast on business in May. Since than he has made several authorized Trainwreck Circuits faceplates, and from my understanding JM and the clients couldnt be happier with the way they turned out.

Same great guy! same great work! He loves doing it!

You need email the boys and let us know how your trip went and current Trainwreck projects. I stumbled upon this post from Will when I was searching for pyrography. Glad your friend Will is getting his art on the new Trainwrecks that's very cool.

Has anyone got a pyrography template for the lettering on a faceplate? I did a freehand one last year and i'm no artist, it sucks.

It's pretty small to label with a template. That is one thing I'm actually really amazed about is how small the TW amps are. It's a lot of detail work.

Best suggestion use the correct burner temp and practice. All of the art was practiced on a mock piece at least two times before going for the faceplate. The good news it's always been free hand so it's never CNC / template perfect which is part of its charm.

I talked with Will mid week. In a month he will be ready to offer another run of faceplates. Probably the last time though so keep an eye out in the Sale section.

I've just done it. I printed out a page of required letters, taped them on and burnt through with pyrography pen and it worked. much neater than the total freehand i did before but not as neat as Ken's.

Thanks

I really like the artwork, but I am not too enthusiastic about that gothic style of lettering. When I look at a trainwreck I do not want to get the feeling I am reading an old scripture of the old testament or something, the Idea of the middle ages is just not appealing to me. It would have been a lot cooler if it had an old western telegraph style or something.

The new JM builds with English font are CNC lettering.

Which I truly hate. Your friend Will does such a nice job. Thanks for making the faceplate runs happen. I am truly happy with the outcome.
