Sounds great! What speaker(s), recording setup, and all that? Attenuator?

Thanks to Dave I heard it. AWESOME!!
It sounds like what people are really asking for when they want their Marshall to sound the same but have more gain. It's forward and throaty and rippin'!

The setup is an 80's Carvin Slant cab with Hellatone 60's. I'm running the Express into a Rockcrusher attenuator on Studio mode with the EQ's off. The mic is a 57 into a Scarlett 6i6 into Cubase. I always mic the top speaker.
Since I had this amp, I never had the diode string in it until about a week ago. The DS adds some grit which gives the tone and feel more articulation from what I had before.
But, this amp only sounds like it's high gain. The truth is that it's high distortion. There is a difference. High gain will carry your notes for you because of the signal multiplication and compression. The Express needs a different kind of attention to keep things clear and convincing. It's a different feel compared to a modern high gain amp.

Sounds really good to me too, and nice playing dude.
It sounds a little more Marshally than Expressy to my ears, which is not really a bad thing. All depending on what you are looking for.
Nice job.

I'm guilty of not listening to the clip (it's late here) but I will tomorrow. That said, I pulled the DSX2 out of my Expresses and anything else I ever built that came back for a tune up. It took me a while, but I heard something that I can't ignore after I heard it. I refer to it as a slight 'rat' tone in the background - like something gnawing on a power cable, to my ear. Really.
Yeah, it isn't KF style but I can't help it.
