Re: DIY Airbrake...

Post by rosetta »

hi guys, I'm decided to build this but I can't found 588-RJS150E RJS150E Ohmite Power Rheostats 50watts 150OHMS on stock, so I wonder If it can be replace for this one Rheostats 50watt 125ohm 750V Std Shaft which is the same but 25ohm less, so the questions are; do I need to use a sitch with a larger ohm value instead? it will work well? is there any issue with temperature?

can it be used with 4, 8, and 16 ohm with no further problems, isn't it? By the way I want to use it with a 45watt amp I'm building.

thanks.

Train Wreck

Post by garfo »

Hello, I'm new in the Forum.
My name is Nuno, I'm bulding the Trainwreck and would like to see if anyone could help me with this.
I have everything together now, but I'm confused with the rotary switching.Where should I lock the rotary switch, it appears that the connection is not made from pins 1 to 6.
Thank you

help

Post by neversour »

I'm new to this site and I don't get it. Where are the schematics and parts lists? Everyone seems to have access to them as they're talking about their builds. I want to build this airbrake. Can someone help?

Go back to The Amp Garage Forum Index.

Go to Trainwreck Files and look for "Airbrake".

So for future builders, I highly recommend the 690-C4D0206N-A switch.

I´m after 690-C4D0206N-A switch for shure, but I´m a little confused about how to "clone" the lorlin connection to the new switch, since I see 2 lugs in some of the possitions. What are them? Are they like the poles on the lorlin?
I´ve got another doubt. I will go with the no bedrom-level lay-out:
If I want to add a bright cap, with a switch for example, where should it be connected?

Thanks in advance, Gilberto.

Forgive my ignorance, but to increase the attenuation level on my AB clone's BEDROOM setting, would it be possible to just replace the large resistors with higher values, like 150watt 25Ohms?

I'm just trying to lower the volume of my 100watt amp for home practice with 2 small kids around. The tone is fine on my AB clone, even on the bedroom setting. It's just as loud as a drummer, and I'm trying to knock it down a notch or two.

Dumb question: can I use one of these with a 16-ohm cab? Thanks.

LedZepp,

Check the search link above, there is an enormous amount of information to be mined on this site. You're still new, but folks will be a lot more inclined to help if you have made an effort to search and find some answers on your own.
