More rocket fun
Just sharing for inspiration...I have built a SE Express and 6V6 cathode biased express type amp, but I have never built an exact TW clone, this is probably the closest... still some changes though.
Rocket type circuit
Lowered "vintage" B+ Filtering - 30uf - 30uf - 15uf - 15uf - 15uf
AC30 Transformers with new layout
No standby switch
6.3V Pilot light
No impedance selector - separate jacks instead
Still need to check the voltages, but she sounds nice, not as loud as I was expecting for clean tones but still enough to pee off the sound guy.
Hopefully I will get the point and shoot camera out this afternoon

Re: More rocket fun
Thanks guys, few things I will change for the next build, but that's part of the learning experience...
Re: More rocket fun
Super Clean... there's no way that thing will work, there's too little wire in there. Mine has wires going all over the place...
Beautiful amp!!
Beautiful amp!!
In theory, theory is the same as practice. In practice it's different.

Re: More rocket fun
Ok so here are some clips with the point and shoot camera and a Les Paul, played about six minutes, the walls were shaking in this room, then the doorbell rang, Ithought the neighbors had called the police, fortunately it was a delivery guy with my box order... .
Will hopefully get more clips recorded when I get my iso box cleared

Sounds lovely. The Jingle Jangle tone is amazing!
Re: More rocket fun
Forget playing that thing, you need to frame it and hang it on the wall!
Beautiful, and Colorful work....

Re: More rocket fun
I want to say something about field lines been perpendicular and field strength reducing exponentially with distance from the conductor....Bob S wrote: Non twisted filament wiring - heresy!
...but I don't know I just like the pretty colors and straight lines
Actually the green wire going to the PI over the red heater wire needed to be raised 5mm off the heater wire to reduce noise...

Re: More rocket fun
excellent mike looks strangely familiar very very clean work. How do you get those stranded wires to stay put?
