How did you have the 820 ohm set up?

You were using co-ax cable with 820 ohm resistor?

Sometimes not practical but as a guitar player you owe it to yourself to have/use one at some point in your life.

Enjoy.

The cab will live at the practice space. 😬

I have a friend who has a Tone Tubby 4x10 with their green ceramics in it. It's a lovely sounding cab - not overly boomy yet huge tone. And, it's light enough such that this old fart can get it into the back of an SUV without help... :-)

Do you remember the thread that talked about the 820 ohm resistor. The other mod is the high gain pickup mod. It's a pot and a cap across the second plate resistor.

The 820 ohm mod I was referring to, is the one suggested by Ken in the trainwreck pages. Helps with oscillation and allows wider range of tubes that one can use.

Is this the pages you are referring to? (See Mark Fowler's reply.)

Did removing the 820 ohm resistor make any difference to your ear?
