My Stancor A 3801 authentic?

Post by RockinRocket »

I looked at my Stancor A 3801 gray and my black ones for reference today and noticed two things unusual with the gray one. Feel real stupid for just coming across this. One endbell has the A 3801 sticker and the other endbell has stamped 8127A . Did someone slap a legit a 3801 endbell on a 8127A? The inards are also kind of loose too.. so I'm thinking somethings up. Never noticed this with any other transformers Ive had. Box is legit but doesn't mean anything.

My Black A 3801 has A3801 casted right in to the endbell mold..

Thanks for the help

Hi !
Look at the Picture of the Express Francesca, the endbell have a 8117A in it, but the Output Transfo is a A-3801.
Why this code is there... I dont know...
To me, your A-3801 is a real one.

He is asking a lot of money for those transformers. I would want pictures of them passing tests before outlaying that sort of money.
Yours Sincerely
