Sneaks Liverpool Video Build thread

Post by pompeiisneaks »

Okay gang, here's the first in my video series on a build of a liverpool from salvaged parts from a Hoffman AC30 chassis/transformers, etc.

Comments, suggestions, etc welcome. I do have the build actually complete, just finally getting around to editing the videos etc. I'll release new ones every week and repost as I go.

Edit: Fixed, apparently I had a typo in the first one why didn't anyone tell me! ;)

Nice Phil. I wanted to see the first video but it won't play. I wanted to find out why you converted from an AC30 to a Liverpool.
I built a 18 watt Liverpool, and it's very snotty..... in a good way....

I just built an original AC30/4 back a few months ago, so I didn't need two AC30's :) I wanted to also try repurposing parts from one thing into another thus why I didn't follow the sacred Ken layout :)

I love experimenting with old and new ideas together, and I'm not super anal about being NOS crazy or exacting in every detail, but I am learning there's a reason for some of it, so those techniques end up back in my builds anyway. I figure I won't innovate, but I may find some extra work is worth it, and other extra work isn't.

Somewhat that 'its mojo' thing isn't very scientific to me, and I'm an engineering nerd that want's to understand exactly HOW and WHY something works, or doesn't.

I thought I saw a post of yours about your AC30 before. I watched the others first because of the link. It's a good video diary, which gives some insight in how and amp build progresses...
Lol.... the brain fart ensues.....I'm glad you didn't edit that out..lol. :D ... take care Phil

Thanks, yeah I don't try to act like I'm some perfect genius, everyone f*$Ks stuff up. I do remove some of the really bad stuff, don't want to embarrass myself, but most goes in :)

HEHE yeah there's some pucker factor going on every first fire up :D

It sounds outstanding imo, I'll have a demo video coming soon, maybe by next week. It takes me an hour or two to edit the videos, so I have to keep filing new ones, and editing old ones AND building new builds, so it keeps me busy lol

(that and the full time job, wife and kids hah!)

Thanks!

I have fun making the videos (Sometimes editing them makes me want to punch a wall though lol).

I'm glad to know they are enjoyed.

Yea. That first second when the light goes brite as the reservoir charges up always makes me hold my breath and clench my teeth. Is what we see of the video the maiden run? You seem much more easy going than I usually am at these moments :). Very brave of you to put that on a video.
