I have put off buying a Larry Mann cab for my Rocket amp. The idea was to wait till I built my Express but I don't have a need for an amp that loud. I have thought of running it with 6V6's but it will still be loud.

Tell me about your Larry Mann cabs?
Yours Sincerely

I agree with you, I can't handle loud amps without master volumes.

Mark,

Here is one of Larry's. Not a great photo but you can see the insane chatoyance.

Agreed it's quite beautiful, though I had a Homer Simpson moment: Chatoyance is an optical phenomenon in which a band of reflected light, known as a "cat's-eye," moves just beneath the surface of a cabochon-cut gemstone. Chrysoberyl and tiger's-eye are two of the best-known gem materials that exhibit this phenomenon.

Does Larry put info the plate such as volume bass treble etc as well the animal picture between the controls and the on/off and standby switches?

How do you do the nuts on the pots tight enough without crushing the wood on the front panel yet getting a good solid earth connection?
Yours Sincerely

Yes, he had my faceplates laser engraved.

You can tighten them down. But for me, I do not rely on the pots for ground. I used a preamp ground bus bar and tie that to the input jack. The power amp (capacitor) grounds are tied to the chassis per the usual Trainwreck format.

I use CTS for Mojotone pots they are 3/8" diameter, threads are 3/8" long to go through chassis and faceplate without worrying about threads and I do like Colossal does separate ground wires or run a buss wire not soldered to the pots.

Hey guys, Is it possible to change a K60 into a K50? If so, What all has to be done? I'd like to have an amp tech do it for me. I live in Portland OR BTW- Can anyone recommend a tech for this job? Thanks!!

Have a search about this forum for info on the differences between an F60 and F50.
