Getting around the Trainwreck trademark?

Post by RockinRocket »

Apparently the Fishers stock ebay for trademark violations on a regular basis.
So how come "Trainwreck Type amp" or "Trainwreck Style amp" don't break the rules?
Lots of those listings stay up for months and or show sold.
I'm guessing the word not to use is "Clone"?

Possibly, its really up to the trademark owner on how they want to 'catch' them. I'd say effectively you need to try NOT to use the train wreck name directly, instead use creative ways of insinuating it without using the name.

Maybe "This Train is coming and you're going to like the crash" :)

Apparently, the fishers own the word Trainwreck used in any form or context.
I think this did them over "Please see my other listings. Sometimes a TRAINWRECK is for sale!"
Those listings were removed..

Cant say ill be recommending a licenced Trainwreck anytime soon

The Fischer's, selling fake Trainwrecks for a ridiculous, greedy price them selves, against their own flesh and bloods wishes is FAR WORSE than a fan paying tribute to a legendary builder selling a clone for peanuts more than the build cost to fund another learning expereance. I'm guessing Ken leaving ownership of the brand was the best thing that happened to the family. Milk every dime you can, right?? 5k for a (JM who?) built Fakewreck?

Absolutely staggering.
