Emily Rocket

Post by joeboo88 »

Hi: I built this a month ago, and it is a really nice sounding amp. I call it "Emily" after my Grand daughter.

I Bought almost everything From RJ and he threw in a PCB board, which I have never used before, but it sure made the build easier.
it was a fun build, and I highly recommend RJ for parts, he is very helpful.

I didn't do the "stack o caps" except for the first 2 32uf's then used a cap can. I used a NOS 12ax7 in V1 which this amp likes, but the rest of the tubes are
either JJ or Tung sol.
the trannies are - Pacific with the dual taps - I used the 250 0 250 - the OT is a Heyboer 4K

anyways here are some pics

Very nice build enjoy it.

rj is very helpful and he has been very good to me over the years.

I often look at that PCB of rj's but have never order one yet, they sure look neat.

Now those faceplates are what I should order since I have a stack of rj's blank TW chassis and a box of Edcor transformer from him as well.

Joe post some cab photos when your done.

Hey Mark: Bob gave me a bunch of faceplates, I didn't even ask for them.

I'll probably order one of his econo cabinets if he has any left. He's going from Colorado to his new place and is on the road this week.
I'll bug him next week, will let you know when I put it in a box

Rj deserves our support. What a gentleman. Hassle free and good product. My first build was an express from RJ. Still my #1.
If it sounds good, it is good! Trust your ears

Thanks for the kind words. Yeah RJ is top notch, I just built his power broker Attenuator and it works great

Nice build, the cab is the hardest part of the build for me, I usually look for someone who is good in that area.
Yours Sincerely

My first cab build only cost me about $1,200

$65 for the Cherry board and $1,135 for the table saw, router table, routers, blades, bits, etc. :D

LOL that’s too funny..... I just bought a cabinet from RJ, and he will be shipping it soon, can’t wait to see it.
I will have to wait until May to stain it
I’m building a Liverpool right now and will have to face the same dilemma about building a cabinet...

Thanks Dave. I got almost all the parts for the Liverpool from RJ, he gave me a reversed Liverpool chassis for nothing and faceplate.... I might make it into a combo... I just missed out on buying 2 cabinets for 20 bucks....DAMM...
