Rocket preamp with Express PI and power section?

Post by johndandry »

Looking to make a lower gain more pedal friendly amp. How would these two sections combine?
Rocket preamp and Express Power and Phase Inverter. Thanks

I think this would be a great idea. I really like my Rocket amp , its gets some really nice crunchy tones when overdriven.
With the EL34's I imagine these tones would be even bigger and bolder sounding! It may take some fine tuning to get it right but definitely a great idea.
Someone here did one with el34s but not with fixed bias like the express is.

This thread talks a little bit about the Rocket with KT-66's.

I think they call "Big Bottle Rocket" probably look deep enough you'll find trem or reverb rockets too.. Not much has not been tried :Depends on your taste, you may like it better
than the EL84 version.
