Hello,
I want to replace my cheap EL34 tubes that where only for testing my amp.
NOS are hard to find and way too expensive. What would you recommend for EL34? What about 12AX7?
Regards
JP

I’m not recommending any EL34’s. I think you should read about EHX 6CA7. I love them in Marshall but haven’t tried them in a Trainwreck.
Don’t skimp on 12ax7. Find some good Amperex Holland I65 or Tungsram Hungary tubes. Best purchase you’ll make for a Trainwreck.

I've used many JJ EL34s in my builds, and have been very happy with them.
I build and repair tube amps. http://amps.monkeymatic.com

I find the Amperex Holland valves to be quite transparent and the Tungsrams sound great. I found long plate RCA valves to be interesting too.wpaulvogel wrote: ↑Tue Apr 28, 2020 1:33 am I’m not recommending any EL34’s. I think you should read about EHX 6CA7.
