Very nice, indeed. I wonder if it's appearance changes depending on how it is sawn. I notice the write up says it doesn't disclose its age by annual growth rings which may mean that it doesn't matter how it is sawn. I was thinking, if it is anything like the maple we have in the US, the presentation of the wood changes quite a bit depending on how it is sawn. As I said, I'd save the shipping charges and take the job to someone local. If all else fails, look up Neil Paskin, who is a youtube ("Pask Makes") celebrity woodworker from down under who I like to watch. Good luck, Mark.

Pics of the cab I eventually bought. It’s the Larry Mann cab, I’m very happy with it.

It is isn't it, There were 15 logs dumped on our property when we bought it , I had no idea what it was , I cut into a piece and saw the deep red, I thought it was Cedar , I hired a mobile saw mill and he cut 1/2 of it up, there's about 20 tonnes of it milled and another 20 tonnes in logs once I get through that .... unbelievably blessed to have that on the property . I asked my neighbour who's been there 25 years and she said it was there when they moved in ...

Hey Guys. I’ll still make cabs. Just ordered a nice piece of figured cherry. That I’ll try to post. Wood has gotten expensive about 60.00 more. This cherry board with shipping is 160.00. But they are beautiful. I do them because I enjoy it. You can reach me at my little site Faithamps@weebly.com Thanks

If I weren't such a tightwad, I'd buy every figured maple cab you turn out. Just gorgeous.
