Classic high performance interleaving that. The ones I've done with that pattern have sounded great.

for hifi use transformers can be wound simetrically to have the same resistance, like showed on the pics ..some my interleavings pattern to have straight line over 50kHz on full power (2*6L6 on 400Vdc)..for guitar use, there are different goals and trafos need to be "as bad" as possible, ie high parasitic capacitance and hi parasitic inductance , not so nice windings patterns :P

Here’s a couple clips I recorded on my phone. Bear with me on my playing. I put a set of Russian 6P3S tubes in it here.

Thanks, I really wish I could play better. I’ve got a neighbor that’s in a couple bands and a few more friends that I’d like to record playing it. The 6P3S tubes are made for this amp. It’s the only thing I’ve ever gotten excited about with respect to that tube. I’ve put them in Fenders and Marshalls and a few others and they are dark and lacking but in this amp they really sound good. 6v6 are okay in it but I like these better. Good thing I’ve got a few more pairs.

Here’s the cabinet. It turned out pretty good except for the faceplate being off in color.

If that sounds half as good as it looks, that's a treasure. Beautiful inside and out. Fantastic work!

Paul,

Nice job on this. I've been away from this stuff for a while but had some time lately to look in on things and see that it has all slowed down a bit. Your idea of smaller power Wrecks is something I really enjoy. Looks like you hit it pretty nicely here. I had some very good luck with the sound of 6Y6 tubes as well as the 6K6 tubes in some past builds.

Thanks for posting that up, (Edit) -- I found your clips, thanks!

Thanks,

rj
