I was reading this thread http://maximoaudio.com/forum/viewtopic. ... ight=choke discussing using a choke instead of the 25 watt resistor. It was said that the choke sounds smoother and glassier. Here is the real question...from the sound of the posts, this would just be a substitution. Am I correct in assuming that you can use the two interchangeably depending on the tone you want to get?
Thanks

Re: Choke vs Resistor
You can just stick a choke in, you may get higher voltages since they are usually between 90 and 200 ohms vs 1K. I've built TW inspired amps with a choke and like them quite a bit.
