First TW Epress build
Hello all. Here's my first attempt in progress. Be brutally honest. I'd like to get it as close to right as possible the first time.

As I progress, I'll post further pics.
Thanks,
Carl

Re: First TW Epress build
Well, here's my progress for a Friday night.
http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u223 ... 020450.jpg
http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u223 ... 020449.jpg
Some things I learned:
1. the pots are hard to wire.
2. I wired my bright switch upside down (Its stayin, it was a pain to get it in the first place)
3. Solid wire is a pain.
4. KF was a genius.
Some things I still need:
1. The color codes for the Tone Slut trannies!?!?!?!?
2. More Time! I probably won't get to work on this until Monday or Tuesday of next week.
Anyway, please critique.....

Nice build!
Re: First TW Epress build
Really nice build, congrats, I may start soldering my boards today.
This brings me a question about V1 wiring.
On pin 6 V1, what is the effect of turning around the socket with a long wire, stuck on the chassis and crossing the heater wire (original layout) instead of using a very short wire going above the socket directly to pin 6??

The shortest path is not always the most desirable one. I think the longer wire allows you to "tune" the response by its placement. My betters will probably know more about this....Fredaxis wrote:Really nice build, congrats, I may start soldering my boards today.

It sounds awesome!!!
I made a couple of mistakes on the way.
The first was that instead of hooking up the OT center tap to B1, I connected it to ground.
The second was I cooked a couple of diodes while soldering them to the Power tube sockets. I had to replace them. This time, I left the leads a little longer. Not as pretty, but they work. This amp is so quiet too. I can put the volume full blast and get no oscillations. When I plug my guitar, it gets that beautiful rich sound that turns into sweet feedback at will. Yes, I'm happy. I'll play with it more and let you all know.....
