For the record I don't like the Ken Amp being referd to as "Dana's Ken Amp" There was a lot of people who had a hand in building this amp, not just me. Yea I assembled it, but other people tested it, tube'd it, Voiced it, made recordings of it, supplied parts, built the cab, etc, etc. I would rather it be changed to The Ken Fisher Memorial Amp or Ken Fisher Tribute Amp in your documentation.

Dana-

No sweat, I really didn't even think about it when I labeled it as such. I understand (and appreciate) why you want it to reflect the group effort that it really was.

Allyn, thanks for the compliment.... This was my first from scratch build, and I know that I probably got quite a few things wrong. I'm all ears... I don't have a solid tube amp theory background, so my terms and procedures probably suffer accordingly... I look forward to your comments.

Tubetwang- I posted it as a PDF, so I don't know why you would have problems opening it up.... I assume that you have the latest Adobe reader??

Updated 7 May 08 with minor corrections and requested / suggested changes.

Sure would like for some of the very experienced builders to chime in with any corrections or suggestions....

WOW, Awesome job Ron. I wish this had been available when I built my Express. It sure would have made it easier! Maybe I'll have to build another one so I can get it correct this time. Thanks for all the effort. By the way--- they could use you over at the Dumble dept.

Thanks!

I gotta get through the Liverpool and the Rocket before even considering a Dumble.... but I will do one someday....

Howdy Ron, Without your thorough build guide to accompany Francesca's pics, I probably would have an assload of flubs before I finished my Express clone.
Great job regardless of the minor niggles. I thought your work on this was superb!
Yep, I just finished wiring everything but the input jack and the AC cord.
I've got the JJ tubes on order for "start up". I'm more than a little antsy to say the least.

Here's to the end of folks asking "where's, how, what's" with respect to Express building fundamentals. All except for the perpetually lazy ones
I suppose. They'll want your "books-on-tape" version.

What a fantastic piece of work Ron, you sure dont do things by halves :D

The only suggestion I have is for a version number or date of last update at the top of the document

Declan- Excellent idea.. I will make it a foot note so that it shows on every page. Duh, why did I not think to do that... I've written enough proposals to know better

Edit: Done, V1.0 posted.
