Can someone explain it to the other "idiots" in the room?

Expresses are cathode biased right?

That should mean that the YJ's would work....correct?

No.

FWIW, I'm curious too...

What was the bright light moment? I've never used YJ.

I was thinking about the different component values for each tube type, but I think the Yellow Jacket takes care of that internally.

Yes, they do. Even if your amp is cathode biased, they make a YJ for that - it has a ground strap that you connect to one of the tube socket's mounting screws, bypassing your amp's cathode resistor.

If you are planning on using them, and can figure out how to make 'em sound good, please let me know - I've had mixed luck (mostly bad) in the past, and I don't think (correct me if I'm wrong, guys) that too many here are big fans.

They're fun to mess around with. For a few gigs I used a pair w/EL84's chugging along with a pair of 6v6's in my Valvetech head through a straight front 4x12. It was a very *HOT* sound to the point of almost being unstable. As for using them in a permanent setup, I'm gonna have to say, "uh, no thanks..."
