Man, I like the way that sounds. Has that steroidal blackface deluxe thing happening.

Thanks RH, the mp3 clip doesn't reproduce the bass this amp has, it does the blackface deluxe/tweed bassman feel well at a nice volume level even with the ppimv.

Which OT are you guys using for 2 6V6's in an Express? I'm leaning towards the Toneslut Experimenters with 5200 and 4300 Ohm windings. I suppose that the 6600 Ohm tranny would be more optimum for dual 6V6's, but OTOH I could just change speaker taps.

Also, is the "standard" 6600/5300 OT still available? I don't see it listed on the Toneslut order page.

The JJ 6V6 and KT-77 are 2 of my favorites for current production tubes and I would like to be able to use both along with EL-34's.
Thanks!

i use an old 35 w Pacific tranny lifted from a Western Electric P.A. but don't remember the specifics...works well.

"If I might suggest, I have Vintage Spec trannies in stock that are a
match to the ones in Franchesca. That means M19/26 steel instead of the
M27 used in the standards, and 6600 ohm only. They are smoother and less aggressive than the standard, and the trade is a little more sustain and harmonic feedback that makes an Express such a fun amp."

I used the the vintage transformer to replace my ceriatone ot per the recommendation from TS.
