anyone gonna try to build this amp? I have the wreck bug. i'm gonna skip the liverpool, but was thinking about a Komet. I don't need another 50+ watter and this P2P looks like a challenge I'm up for.
I'm sure someone is going to tell me to use the search feature...but do we have any good info on the 19?
I hear there might be a schematic of the 60 somewhere but I wouldn't know where to find it (extreme sarcasm implied)

However, you could build your own version of the circuit as there are no mysteries inside the amp just some values used are covered up.
I think there are many other amps that could be built then this one such as the 18w lite Marshall is a great amp.

i had my 18watt lite, another 18 watt, and a komet 19 at the same time and the komet 19 blew the other two away. similar, but the komet 19 was a lot better. ultimately i kept my 18 watt lite (which i am rebuilding) and sold the k19 for a strat. but miss it sometimes

Did you take any voltage or component measurements in the K19? What features of the tone did you feel made the amp sound better than the 18W Lite?
didnt take any measurements. just peeked inside. main difference was that it sounded a lot bigger. my lite had really bad transfomers since i built it in a blues jr chassis and re-used that iron, but even the full 18 watt i tried sounded small in comparison. as did the at mars specialist i had around the same time. the k19 just sounds bigger. also, the saturation knob was really useful i thought. wish i knew what it was and how to properly add it to my 18 watt lite iib.

Yes, the poor quality Blues Jr. iron probably had a lot to do with the sub-par tone on your Lite. I am reasonably certain the Saturation control is a variable grid leak, similar to varying the 150k grid leak resistor on the Express or Liverpool (I could be wrong about that however). Basically a gain control.
