New cover tune demos with my original Trainwreck Express
For tonal comparisons I know most of you have seen my Youtube clips and/or heard my CD of original music.
That said, I also have a cover band that plays Classic Country to Grunge Rock. Today I posted a new demo of 8 covers for our Myspace page link below. Hopefully the demos will help the band get more work. I kept the demo to just one guitar, so it's an honest representation of our "power trio" plus front man. I'll admit though I usually use my TW clones "live" not my original. Anyway this is an example of the Wreck used in a basic full band studio recording, playing familiar tunes but with minimal production.
Here I used my original Express, all knobs on 1/2 except the treble on 1pm with the full bright (500pf) switch on. Old Marshall 4x12 w/G12Ms. Historic LP, Relic Strat, and 80's style parts strat on the last track. No pedals on any of the 8 tunes except for a Wah on the last track, and I just turned the guitar down for cleans. As mentioned before it's all one guitar track, recorded with one mic right at the grill a Royer R-121L. There was some light reverb, delay, and chorus added here and there during mixdown.
Thanks!

Hey Glen,
I'm the proud owner of one of your instrumental CD's and play it every day, so I was looking forward to some new stuff with the Wreck...but none of the tracks seem to work? Anything wrong with the upload?
Cheers,
Paul.

Glenn,
I too bought your CD and great playing. I took a listen to your new posting and quite a good variety of music. Good job as usual.

The Myspace player can be a little finicky. Sometimes you just have to give it a minute or so to load the web page fully before it will work. Also these are not downloadable, they just play on the page. Here are the tune breakdowns:
"New Rockin' Country" = Gone by Montgomery Gentry
"Classic Rock" = Can't Get Enough Of Your Love by Bad Company
"New Rock" = Dani California by Red Hot Chili Peppers
"Rock Ballad" = Every Breath You Take by The Police
"Heavy Rock" = Dirty Deeds by ACDC
"Classic Country" = Folsom Prison Blues by Johnny Cash
"Grunge" = The Rooster by Alice In Chains
Thanks for listening!

Hey, thanks for linking. I always enjoy hearing you play your stuff, of course, but fun to also hear the range of all the tones and playing styles in cover tunes!

NICE! Love the cover of Dirty Deeds...I'm not crazy about AC/DC, but I always loved that song...the satire of it. I just got a pair of Converse Dirty Deeds Chucks

Love the cover of rooster, being 25 years old I sorta just caught the back end of grunge in my early teens I was at high school in 1996 (UK)..
It's a special thing to me is the grunge scene just wish I grew up in seattle not a village in west yorkshire.
