10" thiele anyone?
Anyone tried to build a.smaller version of a 806 Thiele cab. What would be the choice for the ten inch speaker? Closest to a EV12L ?

Not sure if Henry of Redplate Amps is still active here. I haven't seen him for a while, but I remembered he had high praise for the ramrod.

I have also been wondering about eminence's DELTA LITE II 2510, but no reviews I have heard of so far.

If it was based on a neo speaker, it would be the holy grail for me.

Re: 10" thiele anyone?
I built an 806 for a friend with an EV12L. I tested a Gold while jamming and it sounded great. I preferred it to the EV - but then not a big EV fan. The semi scientific method would be to get the T/S specs of the EV12L and find a 10 that is close [that sounds good]. I'd aim at 83.333% on the cab. I'm sure acoustical engineers would recoil in horror but tone is subjective.
Hmmm, a Greenback & Gold in a 2x10 Thiele style....

Re: 10" thiele anyone?
Let's keep in mind that as long as you have Thiele-Small parameters for the speaker you want to use, you can build a box and have a good idea of results. The E/V box was optimized for EVM12L drivers. And good box with proper ducted port will perform as well. Also keep in mind that with few exceptions, ported enclosures have not been popular with guitarists....open back and sealed enclosures are much more common.

Popular or not, I built a thiele cabinet that I have used with delta pro 12A and red, white and blues drivers with various amps having results that pleases my earRCGPNY1 wrote:Also keep in mind that with few exceptions, ported enclosures have not been popular with guitarists....open back and sealed enclosures are much more common.

I use my 806 with a Swamp Thang all the time, I absolutely love it!
As usual, I will be in Helsinki this summer, probably end of July/start of August, it would be great to meet up

Re: 10" thiele anyone?
The main difference between a closed and what you call a Thiele cab, will only be in the lowest half octave or so.... maybe a few more notes..

I used to own a pair of Mesa branded EVM12L Thiele cabs and loved them. I regret selling them….
