If I build and sell speaker cabinets do I need any certifications? I imagine you do if you hire people and run a workshop but what if its just me?

You don't post your location. Assuming you are in the US, as long as you pay your taxes, you are probably OK. This includes registration for state sales tax. You might need an ordinary business license. These things vary by state, county, town, municipality. For the product itself? Hard to imagine anything special for what is essentially a wood box.

You might see if you can find a local cabinet maker and just ask him. Generally speaking, people are willing to be generous if you ask the right way.
