A true artisan would have dovetailed the chassis too.

Here's the back.

1/4" walnut, and a couple of thumbscrews to hold it on.

The dial plate is cut and drilled, but not lettered yet.

As for knobs I may make wooden knobs with a piece of fret wire imbeded as indicator, or continue the theme and do a very thin dovetail in contrasting wood as pointer.
