What is everyone's opinion about Solid Oak for cabinets?

I've done a couple in white oak. I like the look [quarter sawn - mmmm yummy!] and they sounded like every other speaker cab I've ever built. The whole tone wood is a bit overblown and very subjective. Not a lightweight wood though.

Yes they look great! Like a nice piece of furniture

Is it mostly similar to a birch ply as far as sound and weight?
