Rawcabs!

Post by Bill Moore »

I couldn't find any decent wood to build a cab for my 5E3 clone, but found a guy on the bay who sold me a cab for a reasonable price. I was amazed when it came in, not a knot in it! (I covered it with tolex anyway).

"Rawcabs" is on eBay... Reggie is the good dude who runs it.

For anybody wondering...

Here is one of his cabs I bought for an Octal 5E3 a couple of months ago...

no blackout of the baffle board, or does the speaker only show out with the camera flash?

I left the baffle unpainted to give the grill a lighter shade. Thought it would make a better contrast to the brown sides/back.

Bill,

Looks good and nice work. Is that a JBL I see there? How do you like it with the 5E3 circuit?

I haven't been able to play it in cathode bias yet, (I need to get the bias a little lower), but I did play it Saturdady for several hours in fixed bias, and it sounds great! I let a couple of other guitar players play through it, and one, (who plays a rectoverb), commented how "full" it sounded.
