Hi All,

I am working on a build for a friend, and this will be the first build that I will also make the cabinet. I am going to deliver the amp bare - no tolex. The amp chassis is 19" wide. My question is: How wide should I make the cabinet from inside to inside walls, so that there is the right amount of space left for later adding tolex and glue on each side?

I try to leave 1/8".

Thank you.... that's 1/8" total, not 1/8" per side, correct?

Yes, 1/8" total... 1/16" per side.

I have run out of wiggle room with only 1/16 per side.

I've never worked with tolex. Maybe 3/32 per side is enough to get the chassis in and out comfortably without people pointing and gasping "Oh! Em! Gee! Look at that...... gap!" ?
