I wonder if anybody else has had this happen. I built a 2X12" cab a while back. It is a sealed cab and I tried to pay attention to not having any air leaks. I guess I did a pretty good job.
I was jamming out on it the other day, as I often do on those rare occasions when I have the house to myself. I was driving the 2X12" with my 2X EL34 amp. The volume was only about halfway up. Everything sounded great! Then - no sound! I shut the amp down as quickly as possible and proceeded to track down the problem.
Turns out the air pressure inside the cab blew the 1/4" plug out of the jack - I found it hanging halfway out. Plugged it back in and all was fine again.
Is there a better connector than the standard 1/4" phone plug/jack for this application? Or a technique to lock it in place? Has anybody else had this happen? Airtight is a good thing, right?
