Vibratone Crossover

Post by jon »

I am in the process of rebuilding the controls for my Vibratone. Originally the cabinet came with a Utah 4 ohm 10" speaker. I need help recalculating the values if the caps and inductor for an 8 ohm speaker. Additionally, I would like some suggestions on components for this.

Check it out; I bypass everything with a speaker wire and use a Celestion 30-50W 10.

:)

So, I suggest a wire. lol
Signatures have a 255 character limit that I could abuse, but I am not Cecil B. DeMille.

I've run it both ways and way prefer the sound of the crossover. But thanks for the suggestion.

Having just bought a Leslie 18, I've been looking at the Vibratone manual because the guy I bought it from ordered the crossover seperate as they usually only came with the 10 inch models. He stressed this to me many times during the purchase.
From what I understand the crossover looks more like a notch filter for the main amp speakers. The speaker in the Vibratone just has a 100Hz high pass filter.

Thanks,
Aaron
