Latest speaker cab

Post by RWood »

I'm really into the 30s and 40s stuff lately. Here is my take on an early century speaker cab.

Very cool! Reminiscent of the EH150 cab.

Looks great. How thick is the wood that you bent? The bend looks like about a 4" radius (a guess based on the screws, wood grain and pure guess). Did you use metal sheets while steaming? Thanx.

I like the old look and you did a great job with that cab.

I suspect that cab was built using the kerf bending method rather than steam bending.

It was Birch plywood that I got from a shelving unit back. All wood was salvaged from the library that was torn down at the high school I work at. I used kerfs and a steam Iron over damp towel.

70% open. I like to place in front while playing and using the open back as monitor.
