What are the Pads Between the Speaker and Soundboard Called?

Post by leegold »

Hi,

Long time ago I bought a replacement 12" speaker from Mesa for my Mesa Boogie .22 combo Amp. It was a 12" Celestron made for Mesa. When I unboxed it along with the speaker were these two semi-circle pads with peel-off adhesive backs and it seemed that I was supposed to adhere these pads to the outside metal "rim" of the speaker and these pads would lay between the wood front panel/soundboard (that the speaker was screwed into) and the metal speaker rim. Like a cushion or a seal between front soundboard and the metal rim of speaker. . I lost that pair of pads. I don't know what they're called. Is there a place I can buy them? What exactly are they called? What do they do sitting between the metal and wood?
Thanks.
