Amp cab for a friend

Post by 10thTx »

This amp cab houses a "sort of" Dumblish clean topology with active FX on board & cathode biased 6V6's. Nice sounding amp! Has an Emminence Cannabis Rex 12" speaker.

Quarter sawn Sapele. Flame maple trim. Bookmatched black walnut front panel from a scrap that I had previously. The Sapele is unusually iridescent. Half-blind dovetails.

I don't care for the handle color, but it's not my amp cab and my friend wanted that color instead of a brown handle.

(The two amp cabs in the same photo were done maybe 8-10 yrs ago.) I am somewhat fond of these wood combinations.

With respect, 10thtx

beautiful Jeff :D I really admire you guys who can do cabinet work like this, it's another level to my plywood, screwed and glued, tolex efforts :D

I put a Cannabis Rex in my princeton reverb and really love it, great speaker, warm but not dull.

The odd looking amp without a handle is a friend's who build himself a "true" Chet Atkins 25L15 Standel style amp and had me build a cab for him. It's got a 15" speaker in it.

Russ,

I am no where near your wood working skills! However, I appreciate the kind words. Thank you.

Sorry, I have to disagree! Your work looks like you plan it out have great wood selection and are able to execute your plan successfully. My woodworking can be described by just a few words - BANZAI!, Godammit! and artful fix...
