Favorite grill cloth - BURLAP. It's waaay less expensive than actual "grill cloth". Get it at a fabric store, or buy an old potato sack.

+1 on finding fabric at JoAnn Fabric. Since my woodworking skills are....you know... I wouldn't really call them "skills", so I cover amp cabs (and most of my mistakes) with fabric like upholstering. Except for the denim on the Circle W Potatoes speaker cab, I sift through the bargain bin at JoAnn.

Those are friggin' cool cabinets! Love em.
Does burlap etc. have enough sonic transparency for a grill cloth? Do you notice any muffling with those fabrics?

Thank you!

There are varying "grades" of burlap. The kind used in most potato sacks is just as, or more transparent than grill cloth. The hounds tooth burlap on the combo amp was about the same as a potato sack. You can see how transparent they are to light as well. A fabric store or hobby store should have the right kind of burlap on rolls or bolts like other fabric.

Burlap with a design or advertising can make the work more challenging.
