Whiteside Lock Miter Router Bit

Post by dan46n2 »

Just tried out a new Whiteside lock miter router bit on some Purebond and was surprised how good it came out. Should be even better with Baltic Birch that has more plies. Had very little tear out. You really need a router table with fine adjustment. If you have one it should only take 15 min or so to setup, then once you do make a setup block and it will take seconds next time you use it.

Those are great. While a table may have easier adjustment a hand held will follow the plank better if there is any cup or other bits of unhappiness. On a table I'd use a vertical feather board to keep the plank perfectly flat.

Just did this last weekend while building my Express shell. I used a cheap bit as this was the only thing I was building with it, but Whiteside make great bits and are well worth the coin if you’re going to be using it multiple times.
