CUSTOM PINE COMBO BUILDERS?

Post by ViperDoc »

I'm planning a 5F8A Tweed Twin build. The real estate in the vintage chassis is super tight. I prefer the sound of pine for tweed cabs. I could make the classic chassis and cab work, but I wonder who could make a pine blues breaker style 212 combo cab in the U.S.? Thank you for any recommendations.

Reggie at Raw Cabs does superb work - dovetailed (not finger jointed); single piece panels (not glued up); reasonable prices; one-man shop. Highly recommended. He lists a 5E8 Narrow Panel, but if you contact him he can probably do whatever you're looking for.

Thank you for that recommendation. I've also found Paul at SoundsriteAudio.com out of Trinidad, CO. He apparently specializes in floating baffle, all-solid pine American cabs. Anyone used his stuff? Great communication with him so far.

I’ve use http://www.trmguitarcabs.com/ a couple times for custom combo cabs.
