Custom Cabinet

Post by zozoe »

Greetings... My plan is to put a Morgan chassis I have, thus converting this here cabinet into a combo... I have a friend with all the possible tools, and the question is if I daintily pull back the tolex from the area where the cutout will be, after a clean route, one should be able to re-affix the tolex & avoid a butchered looking amp? Done right, it should come out alright...?

Thnx

Is the opening going to be on top, on the back, or both ?

This cabinet design allows you to remove only part of the tolex in the upper side. Just try to remove this white piping at the edges. And this gives hope for the implementation of your plan. But there is dried glue under the tolex. And very often it is a big difficulty to remove it. And you will not be able to use the removed piece of tolex again. But I think you can buy a little new with the same texture.
If you are careful and know what to do with it, I am sure you will succeed.
